BRADENTON --Two basketball players from the IMG Academy IMG Academy School postgraduate women's team recently signed Division I basketball scholarships.
Danielle Kennebrew, a 5-foot-10 point guard from Miami, signed to play at Xavier University at Louisiana. Kennebrew played in only five games because of a foot injury but averaged eight points and six rebounds a game.
Myesha Broaden is headed back home to the West Coast.
Originally from Pacoima, Calif., Broaden will play at San Jose State in the fall. The 6-foot-2 post player spent the past two seasons at IMG, and this season Broaden averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Panthers (20-7).
"Here at IMG I got a great amount of training," Broaden said. "It's nothing like high school. You can work out whenever you want, and the coaches are very helpful.
"I'm so happy to go to college. I've been working so hard, and I just want to go to college and show how hard I've been working. This is just a great opportunity for me."
