Back to Back Wins for Dent, Credits IMG Performance

What a dream comeback for Taylor Dent after suffering several potential career ending injuries. Dent has made it through three rounds, defeating two top 20 players, and will soon face Roger Federer at the Sony Ericsson Open.

Dent spent countless hours training with Athletic & Personal Development program to continue his top-level career after many doubted his return. During his time at IMGA, he worked with nutritional consultant Sally Parsonage, physical conditioning coach Stacey Daniels, physical therapists Kevin Murdoch and Graeme Lauriston and IMG Academy Athletic & Personal Development programsDirector Trevor Moawad.

“It was great to be there in person to support Taylor. Back to back wins over top 20 players is a true accomplishment,” IMG Academy Athletic & Personal Development programsDirector Trevor Moawad said. “Above the obvious fact that he's an exceptional tennis player and competitor, he's the personification of mental toughness…he keeps his process simple and focuses on execution. Expect him to keep performing better and better."

During a press conference, Dent was asked about his physical condition, he responded with:

“I feel great. For me, it's really a vindication for not only myself, but my supporting staff. For someone to come from where I've been, it would be almost impossible without the handful of people who've really been supporting me my whole way. You know, my family goes without saying. Jenny, my wife, has been there the whole step of the way, just saying, You can do it. You can do it. And, you know, a special shout out to the people at Bollettieri's. The whole crew at IMG and IMG Academy have really been my biggest cheering squad. So I really have to thank them to no end, and I definitely wouldn't be here without them.”

Dent's comeback is nonetheless inspirational and the entire IMG Academy Athletic & Personal Development programsteam wishes him the best of luck as he faces long-time rival Roger Federer. To keep track of Dent's progress at the Sony Ericsson Open, visit www.sonyericsson.com
