The David Leadbetter Golf Academy left this morning to participate in the 2009 FCWT GC at Bridgewater Open in Lakeland, FL. Thirty-three Leadbetter students will compete over two days in the 36-hole competition.
The course at The Golf Club of Bridgewater located in Lakeland Florida has 18 magnificent holes - each having its own specific challenge. It is a links style course with a risk-reward approach especially around the greens. The green complexes are large averaging 10,000 square feet and the layout provides 18 distinctively different holes.
Bridgewater opened in September of 2007 and was recognized by GOLFWEEK as one of the "Top 100 Courses you can play" in 2008. Bridgewater requires careful thought to play well and rewards classic shot making.
