Health and Wellness Enhanced by Fitness and Sports is a continuing medical education program designed to address the national epidemic of obesity, inactivity and adverse medical consequences of having an unfit population. This Mayo Clinic event will be held at IMG Academy from April 30-May 2, 2009. A broad perspective of health and wellness will be presented.
Internal medicine, family practice, general practice, sports medicine and preventive medicine physicians, as well as physician assistants and nurse practitioners in outpatient practice settings, will learn a comprehensive response to improve the health and wellness of their patients.

In addition, lessons from the examination of retired professional athletes, triathlon training, civilian space flight, and health implications of air travel will be explored. Participants will have opportunities to participate in optional afternoon workshops held on the IMG Academy campus.
