A field of 78 players from across the country will compete in this weekend's AJGA Aldila Junior Open at The Country club of the South in Johns Creek, GA.
Four DLGA golfers gained entry via the AJGA's performance based entry system. Mickey Chan (2009) and Marcel Puyat (2011) will compete in the 55 player boy's field and Doris Chen (2011) and Tanaporn "Mint" Kongkiatkrai (2011) will compete in the girls division which fields 24 girls from 11 different states and 3 different countries.
All four golfers have been busy the last two weeks during their respective spring breaks. Mickey, Doris and Mint all competed at last week's AJGA Mizuno Jr. at Innisbrook. Mickey finished 38th with rounds of 78-75-76 in a very strong boys field. Doris played in the lead group the last day, but finished in 4th place in the girls division with rounds of 72-70-74. Mint also garnered a top 20 finish with rounds of 79-74-74. Marcel actually traveled to Texas last week to compete in the 54-hole AJGA Laredo Energy Jr. @ Traditions, but missed the 2 day cut.
Keep track of the DLGA players at this weekend's event at ajga.org with FootJoy Live Scoring! Scores will start coming in Saturday as the first round gets underway.
