Blaze Tart is one of three IMG Academy baseball program students projected to be taken at some point during the MLB Draft. Tart was a two way player for The IMG Academy School at IMG Academy, leading the team on the mound with a 9-0 record and second in hitting with a .435 avg. Before attending full time, Tart spent a summer at IMG where he played in their highly regarded summer "Wood Bat Program". The same program that Missouri right hander Kyle Gibson attended for 3 years while in high school.
With today being draft day, lets take a look at one of the scouting reports from PGCrosschecker.com
Draft 2009: State-by-State Previews - Florida
May 22, 2009
COMMENT: A projectable righthander with an 88-91 mph fastball and the makings of a big-league curveball, Tart transferred to the IMG Academy from Riverside High in Durham, N.C., for his senior year, with the intent of taking his game to a higher level. Not only did his stuff improve, but he was well-scouted this spring on his way to compiling a 9-0, 2.62 record. Though he enhanced his opportunity to play pro ball out of high school, Tart will likely end up in college at UNC Wilmington, though St. Petersburg JC is a possibility. He is also a skilled outfielder and would probably play both ways in college.-ANUP SINHA / ALLAN SIMPSON

Righthander Blaze Tart, a highly-rated North Carolina product who transferred from Durham's Riverside High to the IMG Academy School/IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., for his senior year, saw his first action of the WWBA tournament against the South Charlotte Panthers, which includes several North Carolina players that Tart has played with in the pastânotably shortstop Eric Brady from Green Hope High in Cary, N.C.The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Tart came on in the sixth inning with his team, East Coast PG USA Teal, trailing 5-2, and he began pumping a steady stream of 90-91 mph fastballs. Tart, the No. 12-ranked player on PG Crosschecker's list of the top North Carolina players in the 2009 class, is scheduled to return to his North Carolina roots as he has verbally committed to UNC Wilmington. The IMG Academy School, world-renowned for its golf and tennis programs, is rapidly making a statement in baseball, as well. Shortstop Tyler Pastornicky was a fifth-round pick out of that school in this year's draft, while righthander Casey Mulholland is the No. 4-ranked high school player in Florida in the 2010 class.--AS
