Zeyu "Jerry" He, a 2009 DLGA graduate, finished in 3rd place at the 2009 Southeastern Amateur held June 19-22 at the Country Club of Columbus in Columbus, Georgia.
After a first-round 70, Jerry shot a 6-under-par 65 Friday. That put Jerry at 7-under par and three shots back of the leaders. Jerry contributed his second round 65 to hitting good iron shots, consistent driving of the ball and much improved putting!
Jerry continued to play consistently over the final two days shooting 71-70 for an 8-under par 276 total, which was good enough for a top 3 finish.
Jerry is a native of Shenzhen, China, whose father, Haibing, runs a public golf course there. Jerry moved to Bradenton, Fla., in 2006 to attend the IMG/David Leadbetter Golf Academy and works with Senior Instructor, Malcolm Joseph. Jerry will play golf at UC-Irvine this fall.
