IMG Academy baseball program shut out the World of Baseball Angels 17u Nationals 3-0 on Friday afternoon in a pitcher's duel that finally ended in the 6th inning.
Jimmy O'Neill (2010, IMG Academy, Florida) earned the win for IMG Academy baseball program as he tossed six shutout innings, allowing only four hits while fanning five. O'Neill has a very good pitchers frame and he attacks the zone, O'Neill works a 85-88mph fastball with good run. O'Neill worked a 68-71mph curve and a 67-70mph change for an effective three pitch mix.
Tony Mollica (2010, Mandarin HS, Florida) took a tough no decision for the World of Baseball, he worked five innings allowing only two hits and no runs while striking out eight batters. Mollica worked an 83-85mph fastball a 68-71mph curve and a hard 71-73mph slider. Mollica has a smooth delivery with easy velocity and competes very well on the mound.
IMG Academy baseball program Wins First Playoff Game

IMG defeated Next Level Scorpions 3-2 to advance to the second round of the playoffs.
Starting pitcher Blake Perry (2010, IMG Academy, FL) worked five shutout innings, allowing only three hits and striking out four. Perry's fastball ranged from 85-87mph, with good late life. His curve was in the upper 60s with sharp late movement.
Jelaney Johnson (2010, IMG Academy, FL) set the table for the IMG offense as he showed good speed and a very good patience with a walk and a single. Johnson scored IMG's first and winning runs in their 3-2 win.
Florida Stars Grey Advance To Semifinals

The Florida Stars Grey won a thriller 3-2 over the IMG Academy baseball program this afternoon.
Dustin Geiger (2010, Merritt Island, Florida) earned the win for the Stars with three innings pitched allowing only two hits and one run while striking out two. Geiger throws a 83-86mph fast ball with good late life and arm side run, he has a loose arm and a sharp breaking curve from 68-73mph.
IMG starter Casey Mulholland (2010, IMG Academy, FL) was a tough luck loser going six innings while allowing only four hits and three runs and striking out five. Mulholland showed an 86-89mph fastball, a 12-6 curve in the upper 60s and a change up with good sink from 72-79mph.
Gavin Patton (2010, IMG Academy, FL) had a perfect day at the plate going three for three with a triple and two singles, an rbi, a run scored and two stolen bases. Patton waited back well on off speed pitches and and showed very good speed and baserunning instincts.
