Consisting of some of Florida's elite soccer clubs, the Club Directors League matches IMG Academy soccer program boys' and girls' teams against top competition.

IMG came out a little sluggish in their first game of the season. But the team started to find their form after Jess Bartol scored on a direct kick from just outside the box midway through the first half. During the 2nd half, goals were scored by Paige Butler on a 30-yard bomb and Sydney Payne beating the keeper 1v1. The defense, lead Kate Serdy, Sammie Matthews, and keeper Shannon Morrish played very strong in conserving the shutout.
IMG 2, FC Sarasota 3
IMG really struggled controlling the tempo of the game throughout, but still found a way to lead most of the game. Midway into the first half, play developed along the left side with some great passing from Jess Bartol to Sydney Payne then into the box where Ashley Lowdermilk was all alone beating the keeper for the goal. But off the kickoff, Sarasota took advantage of IMG's mental lapse and scored to tie it 1-1. Later in the half, Renae Bartol shot from just inside half field catching the keeper out of position for IMG's 2nd goal. IMG held on to the lead for most of the 2nd half, but couldn't finish it out with Sarasota scoring 2 goals at the end of the half.

I believe this game was our best game of the three. Our team kept good balance, shifted and communicated together, made good combo passes, held possession of the ball while building up the field, defended very well, nice corners and crosses, excellent thru balls and did a very nice job of switching the field and sending the diagonal pass. We played a very physical game against SS and we did for most of the game with HCU. After the first goal with HCU, we lost a little steam and HCU took advantage of the opportunity. HCU last year made it to the final four of State Cup. This year they added more strength and is a good test to know we can play with the best in the state. Scoring one goal first in that game would have made the final 20 minutes very interesting. We will play them again this year in tournaments.

We started off dominating this game and lost a little steam around the start of the second half. This allowed SRQ to get back into the game and gave them some confidence. We in turn started to play a little flat and or streaky the remainder of the game. I felt we were mentally and physically spent second half but we still gave everything that was left! Great sign of how classy this team is and what it will become this year. I'm sure we will see SRQ again this year. I love to hear when good teams decide to beef up their roster to play us. Both SS and SRQ decided to play a couple key girls down from their U16 teams to play us. We'll embrace teams that need to move rosters on us and take that as a compliment and welcome the tougher team.
We defended very well!, good goal keeping!, fought very hard up top and gave 110% effort, our passes were inconsistent today, we were not as aggressive in the midfield as days past, and a little inconsistent with checking back strong and/or winning the 50/50 balls. I look back now on today's game and I feel better about the performance based on the quality of the team and our physical and mental state of mind after 6 long days. Based on how they strengthened their team today it was a good performance for us. Again we will come back next weekend playing our style of play. Physical well organized attacking soccer.

IMG came out a little slow and hesitant in their first game of the season. We got down early against a very big and physical HCU team and was never able to rebound from that. IMG had their chances in the first half however we were never able to capitalize on the chances. The score was 2-0 at halftime. IMG never quite fighting for the goals during the second half however none were able to find the net.
IMG 0, RSL 5
The play was back and forth in the first half with IMG doing a great job of keeping possession. Score 1-0 at halftime. The 2nd half saw RSL capitalize on mistakes from IMG. Nicole Marcinko played a great game helping IMG to building up play out of the back. Lydia Woods found her form after coming back from knee surgery a year ago. And Devon Davies did a great job of creating some chances in the attack.
