IMG Academy basketball program alum and current Louisville forward, Jared Swopshire, returned to his native St. Louis on Tuesday for the Cardinals' season opener against Arkansas.
Swopshire got the start for No. 20-ranked Louisville and responded with 10 points and 11 rebounds -- both career highs -- in a 96-66 Louisville win.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound sophomore played in 37 games as a freshman. He said after the game:
"I worked hard in the offseason and came in with a positive attitude and got the start tonight,'' he said. "I'm a lot stronger this year and my basketball IQ is improved. I'm trying to polish all phases of my game."
