Jammie Kirlew has earned respect from his coaches, community, family, and teammates through his efforts both on and off the football field; his academic and humanitarian achievements are no less extensive than his athletic achievements. An article from the Indiana Daily Student quotes Kirlew's teammates on his leadership ability and dedication to multiple facets of his life:
Former IU running back Bryan Payton gave sentiments.
"He was a guy that was really essential to the maturity of the team," Payton said. "He is always going to be looking out for others, and I have no doubt in my mind he is going to be successful in football and whatever he wants to do afterwards."
As for Jammie Kirlew the football player, he is also quite accomplished. The first team All-Big Ten lineman stands at 6'3", 250 lbs. and began training for the NFL combine at IMG Academy in January. He spoke highly of the program:
"The whole program is just amazing," he said. "The goal by them is to make sure you are not surprised by anything you might see. I think they are doing a phenomenal job."
