Shooting and finishing from distance:
from IMG Academy soccer program Academies' Assistant Director Amanda Gatchel
When approaching the ball make sure to have the proper footwork.
Do not take big or too of long steps prior to shooting the ball.
Once the footwork is right, make sure that the plant foot is pointed to the target.
When shooting from distance make sure to strike the ball with the laces.
After making contact, the proper technique is to get off the ground and land on the shooting foot.
In order to obtain the necessary accuracy, it is important to have the shooting foot and the eyes pointed directly at the target.
