Ryan Harrison is currently at Indian Wells where he'll play in his first BNP Paribas Open. In his first match he'll go up against the familiar face of Taylor Dent; the two often train together at IMG Academy. An article in MyDesert.com highlighted Harrison's emergence onto the American tennis scene, and some newfound camaraderie between he and fellow countrymen:
"Harrison was forced to sing Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" during a dinner with the U.S. Davis Cup team last July. Harrison made the trip to Croatia as a practice partner.
With the Bryan Brothers and their band backing him up, Harrison butchered the classic rock anthem.
"I'm definitely not âAmerican Idol' material," said Harrison, who is currently ranked No. 284.
But he has proved that he belongs in the tennis spotlight, establishing himself as one of the most intriguing American prospects. Playing in his first BNP Paribas Open thanks to a wild card, Harrison hopes to rocket in the rankings by the end of the year."
