East Lake High School (Tarpon Springs, FL) football players visited the IMG Academy football program for a test run on Friday. Visitors included sophomore QB Pete Dinovo, senior C Logan Williamson, and junior RB Tyler Lane. Dinovo secured the starting QB job in the spring, fresh off the JV roster, while Williamson, whose brother, Bobby, played TE at Clemson University. Logan himself is considering a handful of offers, but has not received just the right opportunity. Ideally he would like to stay in the Southeast so is holding out for something to come up mid-season when he is in top form. "The camp is good with good intensity. I worked with Coach [Tom> Pratt in the morning and you don't get that kind of opportunity very often." Coach Pratt is a 33-year NFL coach with numerous titles and players he can claim.
Meanwhile, Pete took advantage of his time with Academy Director Chris Weinke. "He is a great coach. He is thorough and I can believe what he is saying. I learned a lot about throwing and [Weinke's> arc and pace. It is all something I can use on the field," said Pete.
All three East Lake players joined the weekly campers at the Performance Institute in between on-field sessions. The group strided it out in a dynamic warm-up followed by a speed training session- drills Pete would like to take back to East Lake when the three return to off-season workouts. A 7 on 7 tournament followed by August two-a-days also await the three later this summer.
