After more than 1,100 regular season NBA games, 120-plus playoff games and 7 NBA Finals games, Bob Delaney has seen just about everything as an NBA referee.
Still, the veteran knows he has to stay on his game to keep up with the players and spends a portion of every offseason at IMG Academy. Utilizing Bollettieri Sports Therapy and the Athletic & Personal Development program's physical conditioning, mental conditioning and vision training programs, Delaney trains just like the athletes he officiates.
This week, he took some time from his program to talk to IMG Academy basketball program campers, who followed up with a few questions, including:
* Is Kobe Bryant a crybaby? ("N0.")
* What's the worst thing a player ever said to you? ("A swear word used an adjective, I'll normally let go. When it's used as a noun? You're outta here.")
* What's his most memorable game? ("I reffed the game when LeBron scored something like 25 straight against Detroit at The Palace. I didn't know he did it until after the game when we got back to the locker room.")
