One's coming off a summer featuring a U.S. Amateur title and the other is attempting to make his mark on the collegiate golf scene, but both Peter Uihlein and Seiji Liu were noted in Golfweek's college golf preview.
Uihlein, a junior at Oklahoma State, was named the No. 1 men's player to watch this year. After enrolling at IMG Academy Leadbetter golf program at 13, Uihlein went on to win two AJGA Player of the Year awards -- one of only five boys to win the award twice, including Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
After winning the U.S. Amateur, Uihlein earned the Mark H. McCormack Medal for ending the year atop the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Liu, a freshman at Harvard, graduated from the IMG Academy School at IMG Academy as valedictorian. He was named one of the freshmen to watch this year. Liu earned a spot on the HP Junior Academic All-American team in 2008 and 2009.
