Braves minor league shortstop Tyler Pastornicky was named to the Rising Stars game of the Arizona Fall League to be played Saturday at 9 p.m. EDT on MLB Network.
Pastornicky is hitting .294 (10-for-34) with a double, a triple and five RBIs in 10 games for the Phoenix Desert Dogs.
The 20-year-old shortstop, who is playing second base in the Arizona Fall League, came to the Braves in the Yunel Escobar trade from Toronto in July. He hit .254 with nine extra base hits and 15 RBIs in 38 games for Double-A Mississippi.
He is expected to be invited to big league camp with the Braves in the spring.
Among participants in last year’s Rising Stars game were Giants catcher Buster Posey, Mets first baseman Ike Davis, and Reds right-hander Mike Leake.
