First Steve Lavin and company got a win over Notre Dame. Then they scored off the court.
The Red Storm picked up a commitment from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy standout Phil Greene.
"He verbally committed to St. John's," IMG coach Vince Walden told Scout.com. "He is up there on his official visit now."
Green, a 6-foot-3 guard, had a host of programs recruiting him, but he fell for the historic side of St. John's.
"He loves New York and he loves Madison Square Garden," Walden said. "That was his dream school. He wanted to go to St. John's."
"He went out there and he just called me and said coach this is where I want to be."
Greene is the 9th verbal commitment for Lavin. He joins six top 100 prospects -- Sir'Dominic Pointer, Jakarr Sampson, Maurice Harkless, Norvell Pelle, Amir Garrett and D'Angelo Harris.
They also have commitments from JUCO standout Nurideen Lindsey and three-star prospect Dwight Meikle.
St. John's recruiting class is ranked No. 2 in the country.
