IMG Academy baseball program alum, Tyler Pastornicky, of the Double-A Mississippi Braves was chosen to participate in the Southern League All-Star game this past weekend. Pastornicky, a native of Bradenton and graduate of the IMG AcademySchool, was drafted in the fifth round by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2007 but was traded to the Atlanta Braves last summer.
Pastornicky has had a solid season with the Mississippi Braves hitting .305 with five home runs and 33 RBIs. He will start as shortstop for the South Division in the Southern League All-Star game. The game will take place on June 21 in Jackson, TN.
