Other Bradenton-based players in the field include amateur Victoria Tanco and professional Jaclyn Sweeney. Tanco is a current IMG student, while Sweeney is an alumnus. Both are paired together for the first two days. Their first-round tee time is 8:50 a.m. (local time) off No. 1.

Bradenton's Jessica Korda tees off No. 1 at 1:47 p.m. (local time) and former IMG standout Aree Song begins at 7:22 a.m. (local time) off No. 1. Song is paired with Candie Kung, who stopped in for a visit at the Missing Link Golf Academy at the Legacy Golf Club last December.

Cardinal Mooney alum Chris Kennedy continued his strong summer golf with a 69 in last week's Florida Open qualifier at the Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Course.

Kennedy's round was one of four 69s shot on June 27 as he joined seven other players in qualifying for the Florida Open, scheduled for July 15-17 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto.

Bradenton's Nathan Bertsch and West Florida Golf Tour regular Nick Jones also carded 69s. Bradenton amateur Yuvish Singh grabbed the final berth following a 1-under par 71.

IMG Academy Leadbetter golf program student Jordan Lippetz joined recent IMG Academy alum Doris Chen at last week's AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions. The pair notched top-20 finishes in the girls division for the event that ended last Friday in Sunriver, Ore.

Lippetz posted a 301 total for the 72-hole tournament, while Chen was one shot better. Both players finished well behind winner Gabriella Then, who won a playoff following a 282 total.

Ben Hogan Award recipient and IMG Academy Leadbetter golf program alum Peter Uihlein will play in his third consecutive major when he tees off at the British Open on July 14 at Royal St. George's in Great Britain. The reigning U.S. Amateur champion is still seeking his first made cut in a major. He enjoyed strong first rounds at the Masters and U.S. Open before struggling in the second round each time.

The Oklahoma State rising senior has said he will return to the team next season. The Hogan Award is given annually to the top male collegiate golfer in the country.
