Players who trained for the NFL Combine at IMG Academy football program and what to expect from them in week 1 and beyond.
Cam Newton- Newton, the #1 pick in the draft, who trained at IMG Academy for both his pro day and during the lockout was just named the starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers when they open the season against the Cardinals in Arizona.
Anthony Castonzo- Will be a big part of the very young offensive line protecting Peyton Manning for the Indianapolis Colts.
Rodney Hudson- Former Florida State standout Hudson made the Chiefs active roster. Will start the season backing up 15 year veteran, Casey Wiegmann, at center.
Will Rackley- The Jaguars just announced that Rackley has won the starting left guard job for week 1.
David Arkin- Arkin is currently in a battle with fellow rookie Bill Nagy for the starting left guard spot on the Dallas Cowboys
Jalil Brown-Brown is still in the hunt for a backup cornerback spot on the Kansas City Chiefs.
James Brewer- Survived the Giants' roster cuts. Expected to be a part of the special teams squad.
Tandon Doss- Likely to make an impact in the Ravens week 1 game against the Steelers with the suspension of David Reed.
Niles Paul-Paul, wide receiver out of Nebraska, will be a part of the Redskins' veteran heavy receiving corps. Paul will also see some action on the special teams unit.
Anthony Sherman- Sherman made the Cardinals' final roster at fullback. Won a roster spot with his play on special teams during the preseason.
Lee Smith-Smith found himself drafted to the Patriots who received great productivity out of two tight-ends entering their sophomore season. After being cut by the Patriots, he was quickly picked up by the Buffalo Bills.
Josh Thomas-The defensive back out of Buffalo was cut by the Dallas Cowboys who hoped to bring him back on as a practice squad member. Before the move could be made Thomas was claimed by the Carolina Panthers.
Brandon Fusco- Made the Minnesota Vikings' final roster. Is currently 3rd on the depth chart at center.
Chris Manno- Was waived by the Kansas City Chiefs due to an influx of wide receivers currently on the roster
Mark Herzlich- Herzlich's great story will continue when he is on the New York Giants' active roster for week 1.
