On January 23rd 2011, IMG Academy Post-Grad Tripp Whatley signed a scholarship to fulfill his dream of playing college baseball. The star third baseman was one of five local area players to sign with Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City. As a Catholic High standout, Whatley decided to spend his Post- Grad year at the world class facilities at IMG Academy to work under some of the most prestigious coaches in the country. Under IMG Academy baseball program Director Ken Bolek, Whatley has truly excelled this past year with a batting average of .375 and an on base percentage of .364.
