IMG Academy Bollettieri tennis program alum Madison Brengle took the singles and doubles titles this past weekend in the $25,000 at Ft Walton Beach, FL.
Brengle, who has been training full-time at IMG Academy since 2008, defeated Tereza Mrdeza of Croatia in the singles Final 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Brengle also partnered with Paula Kania of Poland to triumph in the doubles Final over Elena Bovina (Russia) and Alize Lim (France) 6-3, 6-4.
The wins will likely improve Brengle's singles and doubles WTA rankings of 188 and 366 respectively. Her highest singles ranking came last year when she reached No. 155. The 21-year old Brengle, who also had a career high ITF junior ranking of No. 4, works with Jose Lambert and his team of coaches at the IMG Academy Bollettieri tennis program.
With the level of tennis instruction and training she receives while at IMG Academy, it appears Brengle is ready to continue her climb to the top of the WTA rankings.
