Two-time defending champion Angelo Taylor qualified for the 400m hurdles in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Taylor won the event at both the 2000 and 2008 Olympics, also winning the gold in the 4x400m relay in 2008.
During the trials, Taylor seperated himself from his competitors, but hit the ninth hurdle with his back leg, causing him to stagger. After regaining his composure, he fought off 3rd place finisher Keron Klement in order to qualify for the Olympics.
Taylor trained at IMG Academy with Coach Loren Seagrave, Director of Speed and Movement, to prepare for the trials.
He joins LaShawn Merritt on the U.S. Olympic Team, who also trained with Coach Seagrave this spring.
