Game of the Day: SeaDogs Hold Off Hurricanes 5-4
In the second full day of Wood Bat League action, the SeaDogs (0-2) took on the Hurricanes (1-1) as Franklin Paulino matched up against Ramon Lira. The SeaDogs jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead thanks to a timely single from Cade Moyer driving home Jorge Leon for the game's first run. However, this lead wouldn't last long as the Hurricanes' Aaron Rawdin and Edward Marte Genao set the table for an RBI-single from Franklin Paulino in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead 2-1.
After giving up the lead in the bottom half of the second, the SeaDogs exploded to take the lead back and then some in the top of the third. Sparked by singles from Cesar Calzadilla and Jordan IMG Academy, the SeaDogs rallied to score 4 runs in the inning thanks in large part to an RBI-double down the left field line by Eric Feliz.
The Hurricanes would chip away at the 3-run lead scoring one run in both the 4th and 6th innings while Ben Suslavich shut down the SeaDogs offense. Down 5-4 in the seventh, several Hurricanes reached based but, in the end, it wasn't enough as Jorge Leon came in to nail down the win for the SeaDogs.
