IMG Academy welcomes Brad Smith to this summer's ALL-MADDEN Mini-Camp, which invites elite-performing high school football players to participate in three days of position-specific drills, structured 7-on-7/11-on-11 scrimmages and classroom education focused on the installation of basic schemes and concepts taught at the next level to prepare athletes for a future in football.
A class of 2013 defensive end with the versatility to play outside linebacker, Smith attends Jesuit High School in Tampa, FL under head coach James Harrell. As a junior, Smith led Hillsborough County with 15.5 sacks and was named first-team all-county. He recorded 54 tackles.
âBrad is a tall, rangy defensive lineman with very good quickness, and very good knee bend,â said Pratt. âHe's a smart kid that is receptive to coaching, and with physical growth, has ability to play at the division one level. He has an excellent speed rush with ability to dip his inside shoulder to make a turn up field quickly.â
Thus far, Smith has earned scholarship offers from Boston College, Duke University, and Air Force University. Smith also attended camp at Stanford University and is receiving interest from the Cardinal among others.
Smith will be one to watch at this summer's ALL-MADDEN Mini-Camp, and will continue to develop his game under the guidance of legendary defensive line coach Tom Pratt.
