IMG Academy's Catherine Leibbrandt graduated as a member of the class of 2009.She signed with the University of Arizona and played seven matches, before transferring to the University of South Florida in 2010. However, her biggest career achievement is when she returned to the field to play soccer after being diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune neuromuscular disease that causes weakness and fatigue. Afterbeingsidelined for more than nine months, she made a triumphant return to the soccer field this season.

Leibbrandt played on the IMG Academy Girls U18/19 team from 2006-09, and is credited with starting the most consecutive games in the team's history. She was also named Defensive Player of the Year twice by the girls program in '07 and '09.
