Catching up with Lithuania's Tadas Babelis at IMG Academy as he preps for Eddie Herr

Tadas Babelis is gunning for the Boys 18s this year at Eddie Herr

Brimming with confidence, 15-year old Tadas Babelis is a rising talent from Lithuania who is training at IMG Academy to prepare for the Eddie Herr International Championships. Babelis has been on a steady rise in junior tennis since taking the Lithuanian Winter Championships for Boys 14s in February 2011, and reached a career high of No. 849 in August of this year. He is enjoying his time at IMG Academy, and has been working with Coach David "Red" Ayme while he prepares to try and qualify for the Boys 18s at this year's Eddie Herr.

We had a moment to catch up with Tadas and get his thoughts on tennis, training for Eddie Herr and more...

On what he brought him to Florida to train...

"I came with family, and it's great to practice here. The coaches and the facilities are so good here."

On the benefit of practicing at IMG Academy...

"It's so good to practice here. You get sun every day and the coaches are so good. You can do anything with tennis here."

On playing in the Eddie Herr...

"Well, I have to qualify for the main draw, but I signed up for the Boys 16s, but I am going to try for the Boys 18s."

On playing up in the 18s as a 15-year old...

"It's good to play against bigger, better players. It's hard to play in those kinds of matches, but afterward, you come out a better player. I just like to play with players better than me. Playing the small guys is too easy. They aren't as big on the serve - not as fast. I could look good against them, but it's not as interesting."

On the importance of winning...

"Getting better is more important than winning. Even if I'm not winning, but playing better players, then I'll play better in tournaments in the future and the winning will come."

On when he's happiest on the court...

"When you have a good match, and you win against a really good player. That is when I am happiest. When I win, but against a player that's not so good, it's not the same."

On his expectations for Eddie Herr...

"First, I have to pass the qualifying. But if I can make it past the first round [of the main draw>, I'll be happy."

On his futures goals with tennis...

"I want to be a pro!"

On who he looks up to in the game...

"Roger Federer. He is the best. Nobody can play like him - technique and everything. I try to play like him as much as I can."
