It has been a huge week for IMG Academy alumni in Major League Baseball - at least against the Phillies. Earlier this week, the class of 2009's J.R. Murphy went 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run and a double in a preseason loss to the Phillies. Today, the class of 2008's Tyler Pastornicky went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs for the Atlanta Braves.
From the Atlanta Braves site on MLB.com:
Maholm, making his second spring start, allowed six hits, five runs, two walks and struck out two in 2 2/3 innings.
Tyler Pastornicky was the bright spot on offense, going 2-for-5 with four RBIs, including a three-run homer in the seventh.
