IMG Academy Girls Soccer alumna Shannon Morrish earned Player of the Game honors for the Vanderbilt Commodores as the team faced the Missouri Tigers in an SEC East matchup. Morrish entered the game near the fifth minute of play, and turned in a stellar performance. The Tigers outshot Vandy 10-5 in the second half, but came up empty. After two overtime periods, Morrish finished with six saves on the night en route to her Player of the Game honor.
In a message to her coaches after the game, Morrish wrote: "IMG has really paid off and I want to thank you all for your help and endless support. I owe all my success to IMG."
Morrish worked with coaches Scott Bowers and Marcelo Carrera, and was a member of the Class of 2012. She finished her high school career as the Goalkeeper of the Year during her sophomore and junior years, and posted 13 shutouts in 17 games as the captain for the U19 squad that earned a Club Directors League championship in 2011.
