It's an exciting time of the year for baseball fans. The "Boys of Summer" are in full swing and the First Year MLB Player Draft will kick off on Tuesday. For the first time ever,the first 3 rounds will be aired live on the MLB Network. And it's within those first 3 rounds that a childhood dream could turn into reality for one IMG Academy baseball program student.
Anup Sinha of PGCrosschecker.com had the hard task of compiling a top 10 prospect list from the FACA All Star Game, an event that saw 18 of the Top 200 draft prospects in action. A sample from his write up is below.
IMG Academy baseball program seniors John Ryan Murphy and Blaze Tart have been selected to compete in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Classic in Sebring, Florida. The All Star weekend has taken place in Sebring for 17 years and has had its share of professional talent. Alex Rodriguez, Chipper Jones, Gary Sheffield, Casey Kotchman, Prince Fielder, and Zack Greenke are just some of the notable professional players to have played in this event.
Savannah Sand Gnats pitching coach Marc Valdes discusses Kyle Allen's future as a professional. Kyle was a high school standout at the IMG Academy baseball program and a 24th round selection for the NY Mets. A section from the Q&A with InsidePitchMagazine.com is below.

Annually over 50 Clubs and Associations recognize outstanding juniors in secondary schools by presenting over 700 books. Congratulations to Ryan Swinney, this year recipient.
Ryan is a catcher / firstbaseman with a 4.0 GPA. His college list includes Yale, Princeton, Columbia, and Harvard.

The IMG Academy baseball program/IMG Academy School this week celebrated its 29-1 season with an end-of-the year BBQ.
The boys put together an unbelievable season, winning all four tournaments that the team entered and rising to the top 10 of some NATIONAL rankings.

As a testament to its outstanding final record and strong schedule, the IMG Academy baseball program/IMG Academy School has actually moved up in some of the most current national rankings.
Perfect Game Crosschecker released their latest High School Baseball: Top 50 Teams. The IMG Academy School at the IMG Academy baseball program moved up three spots to #7 in the nation. The team completed their season on Friday, ending with a 29-1 regular season record.
The IMG Academy School at the IMG Academy baseball program dropped 4 spots to # 19 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 Baseball Poll. Previously the team was ranked 15th. A sample from the linked poll:
