Highly recruited prep basketball player. Standout on a premier D-I team. NCAA/WNBA coach. Coach Shell Dailey, Director of the IMG Academy girls basketball program, has done it all and she can provide a first-hand perspective on what it takes to play at the collegiate level.
As coach of the girls' teams, Dailey promotes accountability, dedication and complete skill development. By establishing a structure that both supports and encourages growth as an athlete and person, IMG Academy builds players who can handle the rigors of being a high-performing collegiate student-athlete.

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The window in the back that was always open wouldn't budge, and the key no longer worked in the front door. Jamari Traylor had been kicked out of his home before, but this time his mother was serious.
The anger and angst of a rebellious 15-year-old had become too much.
Traylor couldn't call his father, who was serving a life sentence in prison, and he couldn't stay with his best friend, whose parents had asked Traylor to leave after discovering him asleep on their son's bedroom floor.
IMG Academy hosted 20 teams this past weekend for the 2013 MLK invitational. The three-day tournament included elite teams across three divisions (varsity, post-graduate, women’s) from around Florida, and several other U.S. states.
The University of Miami has started 2-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference play for the first time in its nine years in the league, getting 18 points from Kenny Kadji and two key blocks from the senior down the stretch en route to a 68-59 victory over North Carolina on Thursday night.
The Hurricanes (11-3) snapped a 10-game skid against the Tar Heels, who after going 14-2 in the ACC in each of the past two seasons have started with two leagues losses. Miami last defeated North Carolina in 2006.
IMG Academy’s women’s basketball program has been dominant, if not unstoppable, throughout much of the 2012-13 season up to this point. The program ended the year strong with the Women’s National and Academy teams powering through the month of December with an impressive 8-1 combined record. To date, the Women’s National Team has amassed an incredible 18-6 overall record, with four of its wins coming against junior colleges.
