Scott Bowers is in his sixth year as Head of Goalkeeping for IMG Academy soccer program. He is also the assistant coach of the Bradenton Academics PDL soccer team which plays during the summer and consists of college players.

Professional soccer teams to conduct offseason training at IMG Academy

Major League Soccer’s (MLS) New York Red Bulls, D.C. United and Columbus Crew, in addition to Sweden’s Malmö FF, will travel to IMG Academy this month to conduct offseason team training. Teams will have access to IMG Academy’s pristine Bermuda grass fields; 10,000 square foot weight room; vision training center; physical and mental conditioning coaches; athletic training center; sports nutrition experts; and more. The first team, D.C.
IMG Academy girls soccer alumna Erika Tymrak selected #11 overall in National Women’s Soccer League Draft

IMG Academy alumna Erika Tymrak, a senior at the University of Florida, was selected #11 overall (third pick of second round) in the National Women’s Soccer League Draft. Florida’s 2012 leader in goals (9), assists (12), points (30) and game-winning goals (5), Tymrak finished her career with her name dotting several Gator charts. She appears third on the Gators’ career charts in assists (40), sixth in points (104) and eighth for goals (32). She will play for F.C. Kansas City.

All teams needing accommodations are required to book hotel reservations through IMG Academy to insure their place in the College Showcase. Any teams that do not comply will be at risk of forfeiting their acceptance.

Tymrak was selected in the second round by FC Kansas City in the 2013 National Women's Soccer League draft. Tymrak, midfielder and U-23 National Team pool player, has snagged numerous awards in her time at the University of Florida such as two-time NSCAA First Team All-America, three-time All-SEC First Team, NSCAA All-South Region first team, Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year, All-SEC first team selection, SEC Tournament MVP, Soccer America MVP first team selection, MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and among candidates for Senior CLASS Award.
