Bradenton, FL - 12 November 2008 - IMG Academy is pleased to announce that three of its Baseball students J.R. Murphy (120th in the nation for 2009 graduating class, 22nd in the state of FL), LJ Mazzilli (selected to East Coast Pro Showcase), and Blaze Tart (179th in the nation for 2009 graduating class, 2nd in the state of NC) have signed on to the University of Miami, University of Connecticut, and University of North Carolina at Wilmington, respectively.

J.R. Murphy (catcher), from Bradenton FL, has trained at the Academy since he was seven years old. ‘'John Ryan is the heart and soul of our IMG Academy team. He is the best pure hitter I have ever coached and his defensive prowess behind the plate and in the outfield is 2nd to none in the state of Florida. Now as a senior his accolades are continuing to stack up and he is joining a program at Miami that affords the luxury of selecting only the finest winners in the country to join them on their yearly quest for Omaha.” - Kevin Sharp, Head Coach“

LJ Mazzilli (shortstop), from Greenwich CT, is the son of former Major League player and manager Lee Mazzilli. LJ was rated 5th in the state of CT for 2009 graduating class by Perfect Game. ‘'LJ came to us this year with unlimited potential and already a strong understanding of the game. On the field offensively and defensively, he is a man amongst boys in terms of his fearlessness to make big plays when needed, while maintaining a calm head about him. There is no doubt he will not only be successful in college, but well beyond that on a professional level on and off the field. Coach Penders at UCONN is getting himself one of the most prepared Freshman in the nation, who will make an immediate impact as a student-athlete his first year.” - Kevin Sharp, Head Coach

Blaze Tart (right handed pitcher/shortstop), from Durham NC, was rated 12th in the state of NC for 2009 graduating class by Perfect Game. “Blaze is a unique player who could have brought his many talents to any program in the nation. He has the ability to be a high level player on the mound, as well as in the field. At UNC-Wilmington, Blaze will be taught by one of the best coaching minds in college baseball in Mark Scalf. With his talent and ability to make adjustments quickly, there is no telling to how successful Blaze will be 4 years from now.” - Kevin Sharp, Head Coach
