IMG Academy student-athlete Manny Ramirez, Jr. continues to make a name for himself in baseball after being named to the WWBA World Championship All-Tournament Team, Perfect Game announced on Thursday. Ramirez led all hitters with his astounding .778 batting average (7 hits in 9 at bats) and .818 on base percentage. Players were selected to participate in the World Championships based on first-hand observations by scouts, as well as statistical data compiled using GameChanger, the official scoring application of Perfect Game and the WWBA. The World Championships were held at the Roger Dean Complex in Jupiter, Fla., Oct. 25-29.
This marks another accolade for Ramirez leading into the 2013 spring season. Earlier this summer, Ramirez was invited to participate in the Perfect Game National Showcase, the nation’s most prestigious event of its kind, June 14-18. Ramirez’s exploits on the field have also earned him some national recognition, and he was featured on The Daily‘s Sports Stars of Tomorrow.
