IMG baseball players Mitchell Gallagher and Carter Hodge will attend Pepperdine University next year, both in hopes of playing for the Division I Waves.
Gallagher, an infielder, has a guaranteed spot on the roster while Hodge, a catcher, will have to work for a position. Both are preferred walk-ons.
Hodge is batting .241 with nine RBIs this season and Gallagher is leading the team in hitting with a .431 average. He's bumped his average up by a large margin - last year he was hitting .321.
"This summer I stayed at IMG with the wood bat league and kept trying to get bigger, stronger," Gallagher said. "I was just able to square more balls up and see the ball better. "
Thirteen out of 15 players on IMGs squad are committed to play baseball at the collegiate level. IMG is a world famous sports training facility based in Bradenton.
