The 2013 Super Y-League Boys ODP National Camp descended on IMG Academy last Thursday for a four day camp. The United Soccer Leagues (USL) holds the camp annually to identify some of the top talents in North America and monitor their progress in the Y-League. This is also a prime opportunity for college coaches to evaluate and identify potential players for their respective soccer programs.
When the players arrived, they were divided into U13/14 and U15/16 age groups, and goalkeepers were assigned to train with IMG Academy’s Scott Bowers. One of the first things the players went through was a performance test administered by IMG Academy. The drills included the 40-yard dash, the vertical jump and beep test. Over the remaining days of the camp, players took part in morning drills and concluded each day with full-sided matches in the afternoon.
The camp finished up on Sunday afternoon. .
