About E.G. Green
With over 20 years of playing and coaching experience, IMG Academy’s Assistant Head Coach brings a wealth of in-game knowledge and leadership to our football program.
Growing up in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Coach Green finished his high school year as one of the top WR recruits in the Class of ’93. After graduating high school, Coach Green joined legendary coach Bobby Bowden at Florida State University where he quickly made a name for himself, receiving All ACC 1st and 2nd team selections in addition to being named Sugar Bowl MVP in 1997. Green would finish out his college career as the all-time leader in receiving touchdowns (29), helping the Seminoles accumulate an impressive record of 56-6-1.
Drafted in the 3rd round (71st overall in the 1998 NFL Draft) by the Indianapolis Colts, Green spent his NFL career playing alongside Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison and Edgerrin James. In 2001, Green decided to retire for the NFL and move back to his home state of Florida, where he would soon begin his career as high school football coach. In 2012, Coach Green joined IMG Academy as the WR coach and later named Offensive Coordinator leading into our inaugural football season. In addition to his pedigree and experience working directly with the best high school talent in the country, Coach Green works directly with our professional WR/TE trainees including Justin Hunter, Deandre Hopkins, Aaron Dobson, Gavin Escobar, Devin Funchess, Arthur Lynch and Louis Murphy.
