Victoria Tanco has qualified for the US Open by scoring a 142, two under par, at Dunwoody Country Club in Georgia. Although it took an extra day due to severe weather in the area, she finished with the lowest score for that qualifying event. She qualified with the help of her caddie, Ruben Yorio, who was also the caddie for Angel Cabrera when he won the Masters.

Tanco only turned professional this past year after graduating from the IMG Academy golf program, which she has been attending for the past six years. She had a very successful amateur career prior to turning pro. She won the 2008 and 2009 AJGA Rolex Tournament Champions, the 2010 AJGA Annika Invitational, and the 2011 Western Amateur Championship. She also won the Rolex Junior Player of the Year two consecutive years.
She will participate in the US Women's Open Championship which takes place on July5th to the 8th at Blackwolf Run in Wisconsin.
