James Yoon named Rolex 1st Team Junior All-American

IMG Academy's latest Rolex 1st Team All-American.

IMG Academy alumni James Yoon, class of 2012, added a prestigious honor to his athletic résumé, being named to the Rolex 1st Team Junior All-American Team, the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) announced today. Yoon committed to the University of California-Berkeley and joined the team earlier this fall.

From AJGA:

Yoon, 19, capped off his junior career with three top-20 AJGA finishes before joining the UC-Berkeley golf team in the fall. The first-team Rolex Junior All-American clinched his first AJGA title at the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook hosted by Sean O'Hair. He also made his second appearance on the East Team at Wyndham Cup, where he helped the team retain the Cup with a 2-2-0 record

Yoon is not the only IMG Academy golfer to be named on the Rolex All-American roster. He is joined by IMG Academy senior Rigel Fernandes, who earned an honorable mention. Fernandes is the top ranked player from India. Fernandes was invited to participate in the prestigious Duke of York Champions Tournament earlier this fall.

Last month, IMG Academy senior Jordan Lippetz was named to the HP Scholastic All-American Team. The scholastic All-American Team is comprised of 12 young men and 12 young women who excel on the golf course and in the classroom.

IMG Academy is now home to 154 Rolex Junior All-Americans. Congratulations, James and Rigel!
