Oklahoma State red-shirt freshman and David Leadbetter Golf Academy (DLGA) alumnus Jonathan Moore won the 2006 NCAA individual title by four strokes posting a score 276. Moore led his Oklahoma State squad to the 2006 National Championship where he received the Arnold Palmer Award for being the NCAA individual medallist.
Moore also received the 2006 Phil Mickelson Award, which is presented to the top freshman golfer in Division I. Moore tallied three late season victories at the Maxwell, the NCAA Central Regional and the NCAA Championships to solidify his position as one of the premier collegiate golfers in the country. Moore trained at DLGA for four years and graduated from the IMG Academy School.
DLGA alumni make up three-fifths of the Oklahoma State starting five as brothers Tyler and Trent Leon also helped the Oklahoma State team to the National Championship. Tyler Leon was named Honorable Mention All-American.
Taylor Leon, a freshman at the University of Georgia and sister to Tyler and Trent Leon, was recently selected to the 2006 Curtis Cup team. Taylor has been named 1st team All-American and SEC Freshman of the Year for her play during the 2005 - 2006 season. The Leon's trained at DLGA for four years.
