At 7-foot-1, IMG Academy basketball program post-grad Jordan Dickerson already stands out in a crowd. Now, with most of the nation's top recruits already committed to a college, Dickerson is garnering even more attention.
From the New York Post:
The 18-year-old, 7-foot-1 center, who is finishing up a postgraduate year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., has landed scholarship offers from Auburn, South Carolina, Dayton, DePaul, South Florida, VCU and Providence, Crawford said. St. John's, Arkansas and Florida State have also expressed interest. Dickerson will visit Providence on Friday, Crawford said, and the plan is for him to see at least two other schools before making a decision.
âWe're looking for a school to develop him and let him play right away,â Crawford said. âWe're going to take visits and then sit down and see which school he likes the best.â
...After a solid senior year, he headed down to IMG this past fall and enjoyed an impressive season there, coach Loren Jackson said. He averaged 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks per game as the team went 28-2.
âJordan is a very talented kid that has a great opportunity - his upside is tremendous,â Jackson said. âSomeone is going to benefit from him and he's going to benefit from going to school. He really, really improved. He has a good concept of how a big guy should play. He's a lot more skilled than people think.â
