IMG Academy alum Jaclyn Sweeney won the Credit Union Challenge presented by SEFCU, Sunmark and BFB Benefit at the Capital Hills Golf Course. This was not only Sweeney's first Symetra Tour win, but also her first win since going professional. She finished her rounds with scores of 68-67-68, and finished 10-under par overall. She finished strong in the final round by birdying four of the last six holes.
Following her performance at the tournament, Sweeney moved from number 34 to number 5 on the Tour's 2012 money lists.According to the LGPA, players who finish in the top-10 at the end of the tournament season will earn exempt status on the 2013 LPGA Tour.
Sweeney was an IMG Academy student-athlete for five years and graduated in 2007. While attending the Academy, she workedwith IMG's director of golf, David Whelan, with whom she trains when she returns to Florida. Sweeney attended Arizona State University after graduation where she was a member of the 2009 NCAA national championship team.
