IMG Academy trainee Evan Wilson was selected for the 2012 All-Madden Team following his performance at the IMG All-Madden Mini Camp (July 27-29). The quarterback from Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, Fla was selected from more than 120 players representing 20 states and Canada, Switzerland, Mexico and Japan. Former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke and his staff of experienced coaches led the camp, which simulated the intensity and atmosphere of an NFL training camp.
The ALL-MADDEN Mini-Camp invited elite-performing high school football players to participate in three days of position-specific drills, structured 7-on-7/11-on-11 scrimmages and classroom education focused on the installation of basic schemes and concepts taught at the next level to prepare athletes for a future in football.
According to Bright House Sports:
If you've never heard of Out-of-Door Academy senior quarterback Evan Wilson, you are not alone.
Before last week, not many of us at BHSN knew who he was either. But we do now, because the quarterback we saw at the IMG All-Madden Mini-Camp dispalyed raw skills few athletes in our viewing have.
Wilson can throw, he can run, he is intelligent and he is a leader. That is a great package to begin with.
