Four area baseball players were named to their respective all-state teams Tuesday.
Cardinal Mooney's Michael Heller, a junior, made the Class 3A second team as an infielder. Heller batted .506 with four home runs and 32 RBIs for the Cougars and made the All-Area team.
Also making the Class 3A team were Cardinal Mooney pitcher Brian Sprague and infielder Brian Zepeda. Sprague was named to the third team, while teammate Zepeda received honorable mention.
On the Class 4A front, Braden River senior Vincent Keen earned honorable mention. Keen, an All-Area pick for the second consecutive season, went 8-3 with a 2.50 ERA in leading the Pirates to their first district championship. Keen tossed three shutouts and fanned 89 in 70 1/3 innings.
He plans on playing at Florida Southern next season.
IMG Academy SUMMER LEAGUE - Alex Ramon went 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI, and Nick Mace went 1-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Red team to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Gold team.
Mike McCormick gave up two hits, two runs, one earned run, no walks and had two strikeouts in five innings for the Red team (1-1). Jesse Yoder (1-0) earned the win.
Bo Beagle gave up four hits, two runs, one earned run, one walk and struck out three batters in five innings for the Gold team (0-2).
Kyle Barlay threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead Bayshore to a 10-0 victory over IMG Blue.
Barlay (1-0) struck out three and walked three. Mark Ridner went 3-for-3, Billy Anderson went 2-for-2, and Chad Blacketer tripled and had three RBIs for Bayshore (2-0). IMG Blue is 1-1.
Brody Wiseman and Taylor Emmons ripped two hits apiece as Out-of-Door Academy upended Saint Stephen's 7-4.
Wade Hudson (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings of relief to nail down the victory for ODA (1-1). Saint Stephen's is 1-1.
Michael Suchy went 4-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs to help Southeast outlast IMG Green 16-15.
Ryan Gibbs collected two hits and four RBIs for Southeast (2-0). Brandon Bechtel (1-0) got the win in relief.
IMG Green (0-2) got a hit and three walks from Kyle Cross.
