In 2012, Harrison jumped nearly 500 spots, and has continued to rise in 2013, currently sitting at No. 387. The IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis program’s tradition of developing top talent into the world’s elite is well known – especially being the training home to 10 world No. 1s in its history. Today, some of the top up-and-coming players on the men’s circuit all came together in one place to prepare for their next events.
IMG Academy tennis alum, Christian Harrison, reached his first ATP Challenger Tour singles quarterfinal Wednesday by winning two matches in Lexington, Ky., at the Fifth Third Bank Tennis Championships. The 18-year-old defeated Sekou Bangoura 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 and Greg Ouellette 5-7, 6-1, 6-0. Harrison's quarterfinal opponent will be No. 6 seed, Augustin Velotti of Argentina.
