Event Overview
From June 9th-June 15th, 2019, some of the world’s newest talent will meet at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL for the 2019 IMG Academy Discovery Open . This invite-only international tennis event brings a jam-packed week of high level competition and training which includes a 5-day UTR event, high performance training and evaluation with IMG Academy coaches, special events and activities, and special prizes.
Stay-to-Play
The Discovery Open is a "stay-and-play" tournament. Every team participating must either stay at the IMG Academy Legacy Hotel, IMG Academy campus housing, or book through our travel agency, HBC. All teams will be required to fill out this housing form to indicate their accommodations and secure their spot in the tournament.
The Legacy Hotel at IMG Academy is the ultimate stay-to-play accommodation for IMG events. Participants and spectators will enjoy a modern suite of luxury amenities at this lifestyle, boutique hotel - all within walking distance from the IMG Academy campus. Recover in our 24-hour fitness center or by our resort-style pool, connect over a meal at Icon Eatery & Bar or Icon Loft, and rejuvenate with Wellness Spa treatment options and in-room dining.
Academy Park Villas
Operated by Legacy Hotel, these apartment homes are fully-furnished and include a common area with a large screen TV, a laundry room with washer and dryer, and a full-size kitchen. Academy Park Villa residents have access to all of the same amenities as hotel guests, such as the resort-style pool and fitness center, while staying in either a three or four-bedroom apartment.

Competition Format
The tournament will include Boys’ and Girls’ U12, U14, and U16 divisions. It is a singles Round Robin event. The match format will be best 2 out of 3 sets regular scoring, with a 10-point super tiebreak in lieu of a third set. Players are guaranteed 4 matches. All matches are UTR sanctioned.
Official Ball of the Discovery Open
IMG Academy and Dunlop have partnered together to provide players with the most optimal training and development experience available in today's game. Out players utilize the same quality of hard and clay court balls as the professional tours. IMG Academy is a primary location for the testing of all current and future Dunlop products, so athletes have the opportunity to utilize cutting-edge technology and equipment right from campus.
Registration & Eligibility
In order to qualify for this tournament, players must have been a winner or a finalist in a IMG Academy Discovery Open Qualifier (20+ Worldwide), OR have been offered a wild-card entry into the draw by IMG Academy Staff. If you are interested in competing, but have not received either of the above, you may submit a wild-card application for review by IMG Academy. To submit a wildcard application for review IMG Academy, please fill out the application form.

Dining on campus provides athletes with a full balanced nutritional diet designed for athletes competing at the highest level.
