Coaches wanting to gain a U.S. Soccer National Coaching License at the A, B, or C levels attended the US Soccer Coaching Clinic at IMG Academy, January 7-11. The size and resources that IMG Academy provides make it the ideal spot to teach and help men and women move up a level or renew their license. The biggest advantage IMG Academy offers these coaches and instructors are actual players.
“It’s a realistic situation, it’s a real team,” said Tom Durkin, an instructor for the A license. “It’s really good and they (the players) are very receptive and made the experience better for the coaches.”
The National “C” License is targeted toward players ages 11-14, and coaches must be at least 18 years of age. The National “B” License is for high school and college age players, and coaches must be at least 19 years of age and have held the “C” License for a minimum of one year. The National “A” License is for coaching older junior level and senior level players. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have held a “B” License for a minimum of one year.
