IMG Academy trainees and IMG Tennis clients Gianluigi Quinzi of Italy (ranked No. 7 ITF; No. 405 ATP) and Hyeon Chung of Korea (ranked No. 41 ITF; No. 514 ATP) finished 1-2 at the Wimbledon boys' championship on Sunday. Quinzi defeated Chung 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) to take home the junior Grand Slam title.
Quinzi is the first Italian to win the Junior Wimbledon championship in 26 years, since Diego Nargiso put Italy on the map in 1987. He reached the No. 1 ITF Juniors ranking on January 1, 2013 and is riding his first career professional tournament victory from the Morocco F1 Futures, held May 27-June 1. The 17-year-old improved upon his semifinals finish at last year's Wimbledon tournament.
Chung had an impressive run on his way to reaching the finals of his first Wimbledon appearance. The runner-up also picked up his first career professional tournament win last month at the Korea F6 Futures.
