IMG Academy golf program alumnus Jamie Oleksiew (pictured left, receiving the BC girls junior trophy) had a tough outing last week at the 2013 British Columbia junior girls’ championship at Belmont Golf Course in Langley, but her four-under 280 total (71-69-66-74) was enough to capture the title on July 5. Most impressively, Oleksiew's 66 in the third round set the course record. With the win, Oleksiew will look to continue her winning ways at the Royale Cup Canadian junior championships, July 30 - Aug. 2 in Pickering, Ontario, Canada.
Oleksiew arrived at IMG Academy as a junior in 2010 from Surrey, B.C., Canada. Notably, during her two years as a full-time student-athlete, Oleksiew won the 2010 AJGA National Qualifier in Texas. Outside of golf, Oleksiew was a member of the IMG Academy chapter of the National Honor Society, and named to the Academic Headmaster's List. Oleksiew is also a world class alpine skier, and signed with the University of Colorado women's golf program with the class of 2012.
